Can you test and sign off your own work?
Yes. We're registered with NICEIC, so we test our own work, issue your certificate, and register notifiable jobs with Building Control for you. You don't need to make a separate council application or pay a council fee.
Does my job need Building Control?
Some jobs are "notifiable", which means the council has to be told about them. The common ones are a new consumer unit, a new circuit, and work near a bath or shower. When we do them, we handle it.
What paperwork do I get at the end?
An Electrical Installation Certificate for bigger jobs, or a Minor Works Certificate for smaller ones. For notifiable work you also get a Building Regulations compliance certificate. Keep them: you'll need them if you sell the house.
Do you do commercial work?
No. We only work in people's homes.
