What we do
- Extra sockets in kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and home offices.
- USB and USB-C sockets, so chargers don't take up a plug.
- Moving sockets to suit a new kitchen layout or furniture.
- Replacing cracked, loose or scorched sockets. These need looking at soon, as they can be a fire risk.
Why not just use an extension lead?
Extension leads are fine now and then, but daisy-chaining them or running heaters and kettles through them can overload them. A properly fitted socket on the right circuit is safer and tidier.
Paperwork
Adding a socket to an existing circuit usually isn't notifiable, and you get a Minor Works Certificate. If the job needs a new circuit, or it's in a bathroom, we register it with Building Control for you.
Common questions
Can you add a socket without chasing the walls?
Sometimes. It depends on the wall and where the nearest circuit runs. We'll tell you the options when we quote.
Are USB sockets worth it?
If you charge phones or tablets in the same spot every day, they're a tidy way to free up plugs.
We cover Petersfield and the villages around it, including Liss, Steep, Buriton, East Meon, Clanfield, Horndean, Liphook and Alton.
